Friday May 7th: Opening Night
Nadine Khouri and her compadre Tom lulled us gently into the evening with their beautiful, rich, sophisticated folk music.
My First Tooth's Ross gave us a charm-filled lowly-amplified stripped down solo set, suggesting the fuller arrangements of his band with melodic off-mic humming and whistling.
Now played a solid acoustic three-piece set, washing between frentic and delicate, joined by
Nicole Nagel for a lush closing rendition of 'Song'.
The Leano brought the house down and the room together like a rug, taking the good spirits and lifting them to new harmonious heights with acoustic guitars, harmony vocals and a mixture of songs and freestyle badass jive talking. Everyone had a good night, every soul among us.
Friday June 4th:
D L Grant opened the show with a mixture of subtle, lyrical songs with a strong voice and delicate guitar.
Something Something Something Seamonster brought the Americana on strong with their five-piece of guitars, strings, drums and voices.
Alma No Fear gave us dark, warm, endearing theatre as only she knows how.
Nicky Francis and the Quill whipped us up into a folky psychedelic whirlpool and dropped us gently down again. And so we went home, a drink or two in our bellies, and more love in our hearts.
